It is important to note that the recruitment of female citizens is carried out exclusively on a voluntary basis. That is, only those women who have independently applied and expressed a desire to do military service are called up.
Conditions established by law
Female citizens who wish to complete compulsory military service in accordance with Article 19.1 of the law “on Military service and the status of a serviceman” can submit an application to the military commissariat at their place of registration before March 1 or October 1 of the relevant year to participate in conscription announced after the date of submission of the application.
If the application is submitted after March 1 or October 1, female citizens are not involved in the next draft, but in the subsequent draft.
In cases where female citizens who have applied for compulsory military service and are recognized as unfit or temporarily unfit for compulsory military service or in need of medical treatment, as well as those with family conditions established by part 1 or 2 of Article 24 of the law, are not subject to compulsory military service.
Deadline for submitting applications
The decision established that applications for women’s enrollment had to be submitted before October 1, 2025. This period is intended for reviewing submitted applications and completing the procedures necessary for conscription in the framework of the 2025 winter draft.

The 2025 Winter draft was announced from November 24, 2025, to January 31, 2026, inclusive. The replenishment of the armed forces, including female citizen volunteers, will be carried out from January 7 to January 31, 2026 inclusive.
