According to the Ashkharukyun news agency, at night, the director of the Geghakert school, a deputy from the Civil Contract, Anush Ambartsumyan, was arrested from her home. This is reported by journalist Lia Sargsyan.
As part of the criminal proceedings being investigated by the Anti-Corruption committee, law enforcement officers searched Ambartsumyan’s house, obtained factual materials related to the proceedings, and then arrested him.
Marina Ohanjanyan, the press secretary of the Anti-Corruption Committee, responding to a question from the Ashkhenutyun news agency, noted that a criminal case had been opened into violating the ban on charity. “As part of the criminal proceedings, one person was detained, in respect of whom a petition was filed with the court to apply arrest as a preventive measure,” he said
. We recall that a few days ago, Ambartsumyan allegedly engaged in “charity work” in the courtyard of his house on behalf of a public organization, which was presumably done in order to to vote for the State Duma in the elections in Vagharshapat:
