In particular, a group of social media users claimed that the Armenian Prime Minister, responding to a remark that Russia was imposing a referendum on Armenia on the choice between the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union, and he was summoned to Moscow on this issue, said: “I am not the president of Kazakhstan to be summoned to Russia. And we are not as rich as the Kazakhs to hold 4 referendums a year. How can they impose a referendum on us?” The Armenian Prime Minister, however, did not make such a statement.:

The Kazakhstan Presidential Anti-Disinformation Center stated that its own, made as a result of research, revealed that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s attributed quotes were falsified. “Nikol Pashinyan did not say such words. Fake news the authors changed some of the words and the answer added on the edge, which are missing from the original speech. As a result, the statement acquired a different meaning and was artificially presented as an act against Kazakhstan. Such manipulations are aimed at creating negative sentiments and creating artificial causes for tension between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Armenia,” the Center said in a statement.
