According to a member of the Republic party, head of the eponymous faction of the Council of Elders of Yerevan, Ani Khachatryan, the election results in the enlarged Vagharshapat community were expected for the winning candidate (-ed.). Member of the Civil Contract party Argishti Mehakyan) in terms of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Khachatryan notes that the radical opposition forces tried to use the “shuffle” method, so to speak, but did not achieve results. “We were not satisfied with only 13 votes, we applied for a recount, but there were no changes. We said that there would be no Gyumri 2 in Etchmiadzin, and that’s what happened.”:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked if the opposition forces that have become the councils of elders will work effectively, Khachatryan says: “They will imperceptibly fall into place and work.”:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked why many forces supporting the Western trend did not express their support, the latter notes that, perhaps, out of envy and malice.:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ani Khachatryan believes that the defeat in Vagharshapat will be a problem for the authorities in 2026:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vagharshapatsky and nationwide elections are not the same thing, they are an attempt to intimidate the people with the opposition. The Zakocaryan-deficient forces in Vagharshapat have passed to the Council of Elders, but in 2026 they will go to a political grave, the earth will be filled in, there will be the last scandal. When they don’t have a political shuffle, they’re nothing. The name Dashnaktsutyun is tantamount to insulting society,” he says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked whether the elections in Vagharshapat can be considered an indicator that the public shares the agenda of removing Garegin II (daredevil Nersisyan), the member of the Republic party says: He should have had enough courage and firmness to say: I will not allow my nation to be excommunicated from the church, let a man come who will unite the nation.:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ani Khachatryan believes that within the framework of a hybrid war, opposition circles can and cannot be mixed. “They cooked dirty borscht, plunged society into it, hybrid warfare spoils children-this goes beyond freedom of speech”:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
